2019’s Music+Sound Awards Finalists Announced
On July the 3rd, finalists were announced for awards recognizing excellence in music and sound within the media. MAS awards (8th edition) are the world’s top honour for composers, sound designers, music supervisors and sync teams in film, TV and advertising.
With more than 500 projects submitted from across the world and 31 categories (spanning original composition, sound design, sync, re-records and production music in advertising, film and television) it has been a record year.
“The Music+Sound Awards were established to recognise and celebrate the essential role that both music and sound design play in the media. We’re here to champion the talent and skill of composers, sound designers, music supervisors and sync teams, creating an opportunity for them to be truly acknowledged for what they have achieved”, said Emma Maguire, Awards’ Director.
This year has been very competitive: not only a record number of entries, but many newcomers have joined the competition. The MAS community is steadily growing, year after year.
The panel of worldwide industry professionals that chose the finalists includes composers Lesley Barber(Manchester By The Sea, Irreplaceable You), Hugo de Chaire (Surviving Christmas With The Relatives, Crooked House), and Nina Humphreys (The Night Watch, All The Small Things), Andy Carroll, Creative Director and Partner at The Elements Music, and Luis Almau, Head of Music Production at Soundtree Music.
